Now that you’ve put together one of the most amazing free music offers anywhere online you need to be able to deliver it to your fans in a fast a efficient way.
But if you want to follow my plan and give tons of people free stuff it should not cost you anything to deliver otherwise you go broke pretty quick right.
With that in mind let’s have a look at some killer free tools to fulfil all your online publishing needs.
As a proactive musician this is an essential online “life skill” because once you know how to package up your stuff into valuable offers you’ll be able to do it over and over again and keep building the value far beyond what almost anyone else is offering.
I just uploaded a new video to the classroom about something I’m calling the “Power of 1”…
I’ve been personally using this for the last couple of years to quickly build momentum in my marketing and products by focusing on what works and keeping things simple / manageable.
As you have probably seen already the classroom is a big place especially when it comes to the “Getting Hits” section…so it seems like the right time to let you know that I’m not suggesting you try and use every single tactic because there just is not enough time in the day to do it all very well.
The goal has been to get you up to speed with what’s effective so that you can then figure out the few things you’re really going to master.
OK guys, welcome to your first big classroom update of 2013…
So I noticed that whenever Google or Apple update their products they give them fun little names like “Ice Cream Sandwich” or “Snow Beaver”…and in an effort to model the best I thought I would get in on the action with my “Pepperoni Update”…yum yum!!!
What you’re going to find is a whole bunch of new and updated videos that will hopefully help to refine the marketing process we’re all putting into action, as well as even more expert interviews and tools to get you cooking on gas.
I thought it would be fun to start this off with a super quick video of what I’m going to be focused on this year…(although as ever I’m sure new things will pop up that will totally blow my plans out of the water)
Right below the video I’ll lay out all the new stuff and where you can find it.
If you would just like to skip down and get access to the new content click here…
The Inspiration Station
The idea of this section is based on a very simple but powerful concept that I use to do all kinds of crazy stuff that I never thought possible in the past.
The idea is this…
Whatever you want to learn, however difficult or challenging it seems…all you have to do is find someone who has already done that thing, (or who is considered the best in the world) and model what they did.
So I went out and found a whole bunch of musicians who are doing all kinds of creative marketing and set up an easy way for you to track them.
I suggest that as well as watching these you also keep in mind where they fit into the system as a whole, and try to put as much as possible into action as you watch.
Getting Gigs
Local music marketing…
This video is all about turning Facebook advertising into profit.
The idea is this, you advertise only in your local area until you have 2000 people on the list.
Then you might book a venue that holds 100 people and charge $10 a ticket. (Or something like that, I’m sure you get the idea)
Search engine optimisation, made a little bit easier…
If you’ve been around online marketing for a while you will have heard of the term “search engine optimization” which basically means getting your website to the top of Google, so that you can scoop in all the traffic.
The problem is that it’s really hard, and I mean so hard you’ll want to cut off your own hands so that you don’t have to do it anymore.
But new SEO makes it a little bit easier because you get to piggyback on sites that have already climbed the greasy pole to the top.
This simply means finding a site where your target fans hangout and then getting a good deal on some advertising. It does not get much more straightforward than that.
I recently had a couple of weeks off for Christmas, but you know me…the whole time my mind was ticking over and it was kind of cool to notice the things my subconscious was cooking up.
This step by step marketing plan is a little more detailed version of the “Local Music Marketing” video above.
It boils down everything we’re doing into a plan that can have you making some money, it will also push your comfort zone to the limit and get your right in the face of your fans.
Content as payment, a whole new way to think about getting hits…
There are lot of ways to get traffic online and one of the most reliable is just buying advertising to have targeted fans seeing your site. But this video will show you another way to think about paying for hits and that’s by creating EPIC website content.
Adding a little automation to your marketing plan…
It turns out that music marketing does not have to be all work and no play, the secret is to make sure that you have some passive forms of traffic coming to your website so that you can still be growing your fan-base even when you have time off.
This is my shot at the kind of “getting to know you” style content you can put into your email auto-responder that will help your fans feel more connected to you.
This took me literally a few minutes to record and is something you could have online today.
If you’ve ever had your site break then you know how frustrating and what a time suck it can be. So I thought it would be cool to show the process I follow anytime something goes wrong.

And Finally…
Add me…
This page will show you how to add me to your email contacts so that you don’t miss any new lessons. (You could copy this page for your own email list because sometimes messages get put in the spam box by mistake)
As a member of Music Marketing Classroom you should also be getting regular email training designed to work alongside the lessons. So if you don’t know what Im’ talking about it means that for some reason your additional training is not getting through.
This new guide has now been added to the reports section for easy access…for those of you’ve who did not get a copy first time it’s basically 30 experts telling you how to be a blogging badass.
OK guys, I woke up in a cold sweat a couple of weeks back and realized something rather profound…
I DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING!
Well after getting over the shock and disappointment I decided to use that fact to our advantage by creating a “SUPER-POST” with the help of a few friends.
The idea is really kind of simple…we take something important (and little confusing) like blogging and approach the smartest people around for their insights.
So I opened up my Filofax and flicked through to the sectioned marked “Badasses”, then sent them all one simple question…
“What are the secrets of entertaining blogging that gets attention?”
All I could do was anxiously wait and see what the wheel of fortuna would throw back…
Well the next morning I awoke to find a mountain of mind blowing ideas waiting for me, and the contributions kept on coming ever since.
Some short and snappy, others longer and more detailed…but all packed with actionable stuff you can start using right now.
This information is EPIC like Ben Hurr…I feel the hand of history on my shoulder.
I just finished off a package of personalized coaching which is now available to all active members of the classroom.
Here is a quote from the intro video…
“…now that you’re a fully fledged member of the classroom I want to make good on my word and personally help you as much as possible with your promotion efforts.
Because as well as all the step by step training you’re getting in the classroom a big part of the program is having me in your corner to help out and keep you winning.
So if you want to get maximum promotional punch from your time with me I need you to take 10 minutes to send me four VITAL pieces of information…”
Hey guys it’s the middle of the 10th Month in the earth year 2012…so what better moment to update you on what we’ve been adding to the classroom over the past few weeks!
I’m not going to waste any more silly words on the build up, so let’s get right into the action..
Interviews
First up is a bunch of killer expert interviews for you to learn from, and I’ve taken the notes so you don’t have to!
Then I made a video to show you how you can target Aweber emails based on where fans live. This is obviously cool if you’re touring…and it happens automatically so you don’t have to quiz people for their location when they sign up, which would decrease you’re conversion rate.
They can now be accessed from right inside the classroom to save you a little bit of time.
Here’s the link you’re looking for:
And finally I added a whole bunch of new video coaching answers so if you’ve been wondering how something works (or fits into this whole system) you might try this page.
I’m going away for a couple of days to recharge now, but you can bet that I’ll be back on Monday morning focused on going higher, faster and stronger with everything in the classroom.
You might have noticed recently that I’ve been kind of obsessed with getting you some hits.
There is a very important reason for that…
Because once you’ve got your site online and sales funnel rocking, the GIANT SMELLY ELEPHANT most people have in the room is that they just don’t have enough hits to make this stuff pay yet.
So I’m not going to rest until each and every member finds a traffic tactic they like and have a stream of fans flowing in everyday.
In this brand new module of 5 videos I’m going to take you through a pretty cool way you can do it…
It’s called “Pay Per View” advertising and it will allow you too POP your fan-catcher page up in-front of some of the most targeted and hyperactive music fans on the web.
This is brand new stuff that I’ve just started testing out myself and you can click the link below for full details on everything I’m doing.
I thought it might give you guys a kick to check out a little bit of my music, but I won’t be testing you on this so it’s not an essential part of the course.
Anyway if you are interested you’ve got a video and two albums to get through, so put the coffee on!
We try to make the recordings like a musical time machine…
For instance you’re going to hear a little 1970′s prog rock, a 1930′s love song and a bunch of stuff in-between.
Can’t really say why…but I guess it just kind of keeps me interested and on my toes.
I have uploaded my first two albums and my strange zero budget music video to the members area for you to listen to and download for free.
